Getting to know your vehicle
Expedition vehicles have a variety of safety and survival equipment which could be vital to you. Before setting off, Footloose 4x4 will familiarise you with daily and weekly vehicle checks, ‘bush mechanic’ repairs and how to operate all the systems on your vehicle.

Video camera basics
Making a record of your trip has never been easier, with digital video and still cameras you can store and edit on a laptop computer. Footloose 4x4’s qualified partners will show you how to use the camera and find the best views. If you want to have a ‘blog’ as well as a personal record, Footloose 4x4 can help with that, too.

Off road driving and recovery skills
Footloose 4x4 is run by skilful off-road drivers who know only too well the benefits of getting it right and the disaster of getting it wrong. Modern 4x4s are extremely capable, but even the best drivers get stuck. Qualified partners will teach the importance of understanding the safety elements of driving and vehicle recovery
.

Navigation skills
Though it’s better mapped than it ever was, the planet still has plenty of open space where it’s easy to get lost. GPS is a must, but even the benefit of modern technology doesn’t take away the necessity of a compass and maps. Footloose 4x4 will teach you basic orienteering skills.

Survival skills
A hundred miles from a doctor, or stranded by a breakdown, you need to draw on your resources to get yourself safe. The number one rule is always to stay with your vehicle, but there’s much more to staying healthy and summoning help, as a Footloose 4x4 course will demonstrate.

First aid
Footloose 4x4 prides itself in arranging the top quality First Aid courses in conjunction with qualified partners, which will take in valuable skills and techniques relevant to your journey. We also advise you on medical equipment to take with you on expedition.
